How I work
I'm trained in CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Internal Family Systems, and EMDR. Which one I use depends on what you actually need, not on which one's quickest to run. Most people who end up in my office have already been told their symptoms don't fit a standard box – Complex Trauma, FND and PPPD in particular, where there's often a long trail of appointments before someone takes it seriously. I also do a lot of work with military and ex-military clients, including through DVA and the ADF, and with PTSD and complex trauma more broadly. The business degrees aren't just trivia here either, DVA claims and service-related bureaucracy are exactly the kind of process clients need a hand navigating, and it's a background that helps. I keep sessions practical and collaborative, and I'd rather ask a direct question than dance around one. A bit of humour usually finds its way in too. Taking the work seriously doesn't mean taking every moment seriously.
What I don't do
Being upfront about scope saves everyone time. I don't work with eating disorders, family therapy, couples counselling, or crisis support, and I don't provide legal or workplace reports or third-party claims (WorkCover, TAC, court reports). If you need one of those, the APS ‘Find a Psychologist’ tool is the fastest way to find the right person.
Supervision
I'm an AHPRA Board-Approved Supervisor. I supervise provisional and registrar psychologists working toward endorsement. See the Clinical Supervision page →
